CKAN Workshop – how to use, extend and get involved – Workshop

CKAN is the world leading open source data portal management platform. The workshop will focus on the following aspects.
- Introduction to CKAN: what it is and what it is not! With what feature set has CKAN become a worldwide standard for open data portals? (talk)
- Support: what is available in terms of training, deployments or support days to help people deploy, customise and extend CKAN. Will include Q&A / troubleshooting.
- Building apps / extensions off CKAN: Using the catalog API and the data API – we will be provide a practical showcase of how to adapt themes, create a custom preview, modify the authorisation setup and more. Will include examples of how to use the API for data mashups. (Practical workshop)
- CKAN project: how to get involved in this open source project, contributing, mailing lists, roadmap and governance. (Talk + discussion)
